🌲 The Roots of Pine + Pixel

Hi, I’m Kelsey, founder of Pine + Pixel Studio. I’m a learning strategist, educational content nerd, and lifelong enthusiast for making learning and development actually make sense. I’m passionate about building learning experiences that are clear, engaging, and designed to grow with your team.

I began my career in the classroom, teaching everything from Kindergarten phonics to supporting diverse learners as a Special Education Learning Specialist. That hands-on experience taught me how people (big ones and small ones) joyfully learn, and just how messy, transformative, and deeply human that process can be.

From there, I transitioned into the world of Learning & Development, leading initiatives across industries including educational tech, manufacturing, and environmental sustainability. Along the way, I’ve built:

  • Scalable onboarding programs

  • Instructional design frameworks

  • Professional development systems

  • Educational content & product strategies that matter

Whether I’m creating learning journeys for new hires or consulting on long-term L&D strategy, I bring curiosity and clarity, alongside a dash of humor and a touch of creative flair.

🪴 Also Me, Occasionally

Outside of the studio, I’ve dipped my toes into:

  • Food blogging and content creation

  • Copywriting and voice-of-brand work

  • Conference speaking

  • Event and wedding planning (I do, in fact, own a clipboard and a steamer)

🌿 A Few of My Favorite Things

  • Cooking big, cozy meals (northwestnomnom.com)

  • Bees, as a species (ask me about my Honey Bee Hospice Care)

  • Paddleboarding in the Oregon sun (when it shows up)

  • Narrative writing (ask me about my forever-in-progress mystery novel)

  • Watching Formula 1 (I love the vroom vroom)

  • Playing Dungeons & Dragons (my favorite character is a spunky Druid wood elf)

🌧️ A Few Things I Vehemently Avoid

  • Folding laundry

  • Remembering to get my oil changed

  • Airplanes (but paradoxically, I love airports and traveling—go figure)

  • Ironically, gardening. I love plants, but I’m unfortunately not very adept at keeping them alive on a personal/literal level

🏡 Life Beyond the Studio

(aka The Real Bosses I Report To)

I live in the Portland metro area with:

  • My two brilliant daughters

  • My partner, Trevor

  • Our cat Suki, who is lovely and tolerates me most days

Weekends often include:

  • Collecting driftwood and shells at the coast

  • Holding each other together in the Costco checkout line

  • Searching the backyard for four-leaf clovers
